How the FBI is preparing for Super Bowl 50

With Super Bowl 50 a week away, football fans are getting excited. Millions are expected to be watching the game, meaning threat level is high. As for the FBI, keeping Bay Area safe is at the utmost importance. Setting up weeks ahead, the FBI Joint Operations Center is preparing computers, blocking windows, and organizing equipment in anticipation for the big night. This night will be of more precaution though after the recent Paris and San Bernardino.

In the case of some hazardous material, the team is ready with planes, helicopters, chemical experts, teams of agents, nuclear specialists, and more. Aside from terror groups though, the FBI claims that another area of concern is individuals inspired by terrorist groups. To stop these threats, the FBI is relying greatly on the public to keep an eye out for danger.

In addition to the tactics mentioned above the FBI will be monitoring social media 24/7, closing flights starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, and creating a “no drone zone” to prevent aerial attacks.

Although the FBI can’t release all their information, they claim there are confident in their preparation and say everything will be processed through them.
