Egg & Cheese Sandwich
It’s just the egg and cheese sandwich that’s always been on the Lino’s menu for as long as I’ve been here; it’s been an option for breakfast and lunch, so I feel like I know it very well. First off, this sandwich is basic: just egg, cheese, and bread. Nothing special, no fancy name, but you can add bacon or sausage if you want, which definitely makes it better. I usually get the bacon if I’m hungry because it adds a salty crunch that makes it feel like a real meal. The sausage is still a popular option among other students. The bread is… well, it’s bread. Soft enough to bite through, and it doesn’t fall apart, which is a plus because nothing’s worse than getting a sandwich that crumbles halfway through. The cheese is very melty, which is actually nice. I’m a huge cheese person, and it’s mild enough that it just adds some flavor without overpowering the whole thing. The egg is, well, an egg. Scrambled and folded over, it has that classic egg taste and feel. Overall, this sandwich isn’t something unique and creative, but it gets the job done, especially when you’re starving before first period. Adding bacon or sausage gives it more personality, and being able to get it fresh is always a viable option. I have never gone a day in school where I haven’t seen a person eating one.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this item for any student seeking a strong and nutritious meal to start their day!
Hashbrown
Crispy, golden, and perfectly salted—these hashbrowns are everything you could ask for in a morning snack or lunch side. Each bite has a satisfying crunch that gives way to a fluffy interior, creating a great balance of textures. “When biting into the hashbrowns, it’s like having liquid gold flow into my mouth,” says junior Dominic Gaudino. Unlike some hashbrowns that can taste overly greasy, Lino’s hashbrowns manage to keep a fresh taste without being too heavy. The seasoning hits just right, adding enough flavor to keep things interesting without overpowering the natural potato goodness.
For a warm, comforting addition to your meal, these hashbrowns definitely stand out as a top choice in the cafeteria lineup.
Donuts
These donuts are a sweet delight that brightens up any morning meal or lunch break! Soft and airy, they have the perfect donut texture—light but still substantive enough to satisfy. Each donut has a delicate glaze that provides just the right amount of sweetness, making every bite feel like a treat without going overboard. The best part is that they’re fresh, not overly dense, and have that lovely melt-in-your-mouth quality. It’s clear these aren’t your average, overly processed donuts; they taste like they were made with care, offering a small indulgence that’s hard to resist.
So yes, I absolutely recommend the donuts, along with all of these Lino’s breakfast foods that can make any Xavier student’s day all the better!

I can’t even imagine a breakfast sandwich that crumbles apart after being spoiled by Lino for so long.
