A Day at Mercy, a Xavier Perspective

By Andrew Cammisa, Senior Writer

At seven O’ clock, my alarm goes off with my favorite tune “Shake it off” by Taylor Swift. I prance downstairs where I make myself the usual bagel for breakfast and accompany it with some Starbucks coffee. In order to be able to make my buss I quickly skip up the stairs and head to my crystal clean bathroom where I brush my hair and teeth. Afterward, I am faced with a major crisis!

“Should I wear a white shirt or a blue shirt today?”

I decide that the white shirt would better match the leopard spotted pajama pants that I would be wearing to school. To finish off my outfit, I quickly put on my skirt and slip on my comfortable pair of Sperrys as I head out the door.

Upon arriving at Mercy, I go directly into the cafeteria where I am afforded twenty minutes before class because the wonderful staff at Xavier and Mercy decided that the busses should stop here first. With these extra twenty minutes, I sit in the hallway with some friends and am able to finish the rest of my homework. When I hear the first bell ring I decide to venture to my first period class with Mr. Butterly who really set the tone for my wonderful day. After leaving my favorite lass of the day I head to my advisor group where I am easily able to interact with students from every grade. Finally, I proceed to my huge locker to gather my books for the rest of my morning classes.

When lunchtime rolls around, I am starving! As I walk into the cafeteria I was treated to an extensive buffet consisting of every type of food imaginable. After making up a plate of steak, a baked potato, and a chicken Caesar salad, I locate my friends and devour the magnificent meal. To finish it off I take a small slice of apple pie and wash it down with some sparkling water.

After a very successful lunch, I am able to persevere through the rest of the day. Following closing school announcements and prayer I am able to retrieve the books that I need from my locker, AFTER dealing with the very annoying girl who has the locker under me. To finish off my day I headed into the hallway where I sit around with some classmates to complete some homework and carry out a conversation. Finally, at 4:30 my delightful mother is able to pick me up. From there, I finish my day by eating dinner, showering, finishing most of my homework, and going to bed. – See more at: https://xkestrel.com/1113/student-life/his-and-her-a-day-at-mercy/#sthash.p6sc4A9F.dpuf
